O-S Masters & Wardens Golf Tournament

The sixth annual Masters & Wardens Golf Tournament is scheduled for 8:00am, Saturday August 1, 2015 at Colonial Ridge Golf Course in Laurens, NY. To sign up for this event please fill out the form below and include your name, teammate’s names and team name. Teams need to consist of 4 members with at least 2 that are Masons while the other 2 members of a team can be non-Masons or women.
The cost for each person to play will be $70 for a team total cost of $280. Payment for this event will be due at the golf course at the time of team check in.
Tee time is about 8:00 AM. Get there early to sign in and pay. We will be selling mulligans as usual for $20.00 per team. Also tickets for door prizes. After 18 holes of golf we will return to the clubhouse for a steak dinner and awarding of prizes. As usual every team will get some prize money. It should be over by 2 PM.
Chilii CookOff and Ritual Competition

Come one, come all! Please join us for the 2nd annual district ritual competition on February 28, 2015 at Otsego Lodge in Cooperstown. A chili cook-off will start at 12pm with the ritual competition following at 1pm. This is a great opportunity to show off your ritualistic capabilities, gain more light in masonry, and share in great fellowship and fun. And last but certainly not least, the Golden Protractor Award is up for grabs!!

Cobleskill Table Lodge

Cost for the dinner will be an $8.00 $12.00 (or better if you can) donation to our roof fund. Make checks payable to Cobleskill Lodge #394. O-S MD Grand Lecture's Convention

Agenda: The Grand Lecturer will be covering the opening / closing of lodge, balloting, the memorial service, and floor work as time permits.
Potts Award: Lodges who have the Master, both wardens, both deacons, and both masters of ceremonies in attendance will receive this award, a prestigious honor announced during the annual Grand Lodge communication.
There will be a Co-Hosted Table Lodge at Otsego Lodge on November 8th, at 6pm. Email kdickison at hughes.net whether you can attend or not.

District Ceremony of Investiture

You are cordially and fraternally invited to participate in the Otsego-Schoharie Masonic District Ceremony of Investiture to be held at Bump Tavern in the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown, NY at 5 p.m. on May 22nd. As I’m sure you all know, Grand Lodge requires each new incoming Master be invested with the Secrets of the Chair prior to his installation, but recycling Past Masters can and are encouraged to participate as well. All actual Past Masters are requested to attend. This year’s guest speaker is R:.W:. Richard S. Morley, Junior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York. Because of this we are opening up this years ceremony to the Brothers of the Deleware District as well. Following the ceremony we will retire to Otsego Lodge for an open dinner prepared for us by the ladies of the Eastern Star. Bring your Ladies and guests to this part of the event. On the menu is ham, mixed vegetables, a potato dish, rolls, fruit cup, various non-alcoholic beverages and lemon lust for dessert. Cost for the meal is $15.00. As in the past, they will provide a delightful vegetarian option with advance request. Send me your checks made payable to "The District Association" no later than May 15th so that I can give the ladies a head count. This year we will only be reserving meals for those who have paid in advance because last year many people said they were coming and did not but we still had to pay for the expense of their meals. You can let me know if you will be joining us for dinner or just coming to the Ceremony. Two award categories; one for the lodge whose installed officers do the best opening, and one for the individual Brother that does the best performance of the Fellowcraft Degree charge that begins with, “Upon the very name of this degree…” For the opening, we will have stand-ins available if all of your officers cannot be there. Their work will not be considered for the award.
There will also be Masonic trivia, food, fun and fellowship. A lunch will be provided.

It is strongly recommended if you plan to move through the chairs. Masters & Wardens pays for the course for any Brother who is a Jr. or Sr. Warden of his lodge even if he has had the chair before. Let your Master/Secretary know by Friday January 3rd so they can get you enrolled.
