We had a great Communication with 15 members, 1 EA, and 3 visitors present; 19 total. Highlights:

• Rick Ranc lost his wedding ring for a few days; found it on the ball field.
• Ron Ranc jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.
• Last Monday Oneonta Chapter 277, Royal Arch Masons, received the DDGHP. Delaware Chapter is meeting with them until Delhi Lodge is repaired. There were 21 in attendance.
• 3 attended Northstar Project training.
• W∴ Bruce L. Van Buren appointed the district webmaster.
• Fred Hickein had a heart valve repaired and feels like he'll live to be 100.
• Annual Awards Dinner. Fred Hickein received special recognition and James St John received his 70 Year Service Award.
• Past Master need to make appointments at Costa Photography for pictures in our gallery. Please were tuxedo.

Yorktown Clock

Formerly the property of Yorktown Lodge, Virginia, this clock stood in the lodge rooms when George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette visited in October 1783., and at the Masonic Banquet held following the surrender of Cornwallis which signaled the end of the American Revolution.

Freemasons fought on both sides of the Revolution, although most Americans are familiar with those Founding Fathers were also Freemasons: Washington; Benjamin Franklin; Paul Revere; John Hancock; Lafayette; Ethan Allen; Baron von Steuben; together with none signers of the Declaration of Independence, nine signers of the Articles of Confederation, and thirteen signers of the United States Constitution. Many Freemasons saw the establishment of the American Republic as the culmination of the Masonic ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity.

R∴W∴ Alexander Brannan, R∴W∴ David Stoy, and W∴ Bruce L. Van Buren had the honor to present R∴W∴ James R. Forbes with his appointment as Grand Representative of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of Malta near the Grand Lodge of the State of New York.

At the Nov 19 Stated Communication of Oneonta Lodge No. 466 (7:30 pm), VW Richard Transue will give the 3rd Degree Historical Lecture and W Douglas Macomber will present the Walk About which describes the various stations in the lodge.

Debris on Northside of I-88 between Interchanges 16 and 15 was cleared and bagged on Saturday 5 May, by members of Oneonta Lodge 466 Free and Accepted Masons, and seven students attending Hartwick College, who joined in clearing the debris. Mark Alcott, Eric Bode, Eric Goodman, Cody Kenyon, Chuck Masters, Andrew Schwartz and Alex Torres of TEKE assisted Alexander Brannan, Fred Hickein, Douglas Macomber and Dominic Parlato in the 2 ½ mile hike. The many plastic bags lying along the shoulder, during the weekend were evidence of the many items discarded by thoughtless passengers occupying vehicles on the highway. We sometimes wish that those people had the opportunity to join us in cleaning the areas. The Lodge members are very appreciative that these students help support the community in performing a civic activity.
