This is the Masonic Temple, at corner of Main and Grand Streets
322 Main Street. Originally a 2-story brick veneered frame, flat
roofed structure erected in 1867 by David Yager. Renovated by
George W and Josephine Fairchild in 1897, adding the third floor
and the tower.

Perkins Marble Shop, located on the northeast corner of Main
and Dietz Streets (now 189 Main Street), the second floor of the
shop, being the location where Oneonta Lodge No. 466 was able
to hold its first meetings.

In 1865 the Lodge moved to rooms over the furniture store of
Brother Robert Hopkins located on the southeast corner of Wall
and Chestnut Streets, later the Windsor Hotel and now the site of
NBT Bank.

In 1871 the Lodge moved to the third floor of the Bissell Building
at 183 Main Street, with access by way of an exterior wooden
stairway to the second floor and interior stairs to the third floor.
This site became Laskaris’ Restaurant, now Oneonta Historical
Center.

In 1892 the Lodge moved to the Hazelton Building, which is located
on the south side of Main Street, and is the second building east of
Chestnut Street Extension.

When rooms opened up in the Stanton Opera House, located on the
northwest corner of Main and Chestnut Streets, it was very
desirable for the Lodge to move there and take over the third and
fourth floors.

The Central Hotel was built on the site of the former Perkins Marble
Shop. The Bissell Building is in the left foreground, having a canvas
awning-both buildings being on the corners of Main and Dietz Streets.
